About the Author

Daniel Johnson is a father of five and grandfather of one, with a second grandchild expected as of this writing. Excepting several prodigal years of late adolescence and early adulthood (including a failed marriage), he has been an active church member throughout life. He is now in his late 50s, married over 30 years.

As a practicing mediator, on a volunteer basis he has been privileged to work over 350 cases with the local county dispute resolution center, receiving its distinguished service award for 2012. At present, he mediates cases between children’s protective services and families who have lost or are in danger of losing custody of their children. He also mediates postdivorce or never-married child custody disputes and other family matters. He appreciates mediating restorative cases between juvenile offenders and their victims.

His wife’s present professional role is that of a special projects manager.
